![]() ![]() It's designed to maximise exp, so there is not much choice, shoot or they will get in and get you. On the bad side, this base is VERY ammo hungry. By that time you should have plenty of resources to build some serious horde base. It's can be effective up to the point when demolishers starts showing up. ![]() For the first few horde nights cobblestone and wood bars will do the job, but i would still upgrade front poles to concrete if possible.Īs time goes, you can upgrade poles to forged steel, put another row of poles in front etc. Cost of the base is roughly around 2500 concrete and some metal for 2 hatches and 8 bars. There are no barbed wire on screenshot since i just did horde night and did not replaced them. I cower ramp with barb wire to slow them down and combined with fire angle it's pretty easy to nail head shots. It's not much but it's still some backup. If s*it hits the fan and zombies break front poles you can always use the top hatch to get to the small gallery. Classic bunker 3x3, metal bars on top so you can shoot at vultures, one hatch at the bottom of the cage (entry), and another one at the top of it (oh s*it one). Quite simple and cheap to build, yet it gets job done. And maybe replacing some of the upper outer walls with iron bars like some ppl do. Usually it is the outer walls that take 90% of the damage which is fine.įrom there you can do anything with the base, when a19 goes stable I plan on building it up into a 3 or 4 story base and using dart traps and electric fence along the walls. I have used it against the day 7 and day 14 and the center base never even got one block destroyed so far. ![]() I also lay land mines in between the outer wall and my base for good measure. I make the center square the platform to defend from and the outer walls are made out of flagstone or wood reinforced, it is only meant to slow them down on horde night while I throw a stack of molotovs or pipe bombs at them as they clump together and once they really start breaking through it thats when I pull out guns to pick off lone ones trying to hit my main base. My go to base design rn is just to build a square of cobblestone around 11x11 blocks and at least 3 block high, with an outer square wall at least 2 blocks tall that is about 23x23 blocks. By the time demo zeds show up it'll be time to think of something else, but I figure this should work til day 70 at least. I considered making the box 1x3 instead of 3x3 to keep them all closer together, but having 3 across means they can't focus on breaking a single hatch. Cops are no problem, but spiders are a bit tricky because they're too low to melee so for them I could jump to the other side and shoot them through the bars. ![]() The day 21 version also upgraded to iron hatches & bars but it works fine with just the scrap upgrade. They drop in, as they stand up they get slammed toward the hatch where I send them right back with a power swing. For day 21 I added an auto-sledge I had just found, and it worked wonders. This was all wood frames, upgraded to cobblestone dug up from the blue bundles in nearby POIs. Once they drop (they ragdoll every time which is fun to watch) I can tap them on the head with a sledge (but any weapon would work.) I'm on the other side, with a row of hatches. They drop in because they know there's a door at the bottom seperating them from sweet juicy brains. The basic idea is, the zombies drop down through an opening: I'm happy to say it works very well, is easy to set up, and easy to maintain! I couldn't find the other post so figured I'd start a new thread, and ask everyone to share their EASY horde ideas, suitable for newer players. ⚫ Wiring it all up! Some go on trip wire, some on switch.I was inspired recently by an early horde base concept posted by Jost Amman, and decided to try something along the same lines. ⚫ We use sod for the ground, with its great blast resistance! Each wall is doubled up poles, protected by dual electric fences, dual shotgun turrets, dual blade traps and of course, dual dart traps! What’s the best base design? Here it is! Well, out of mine anyhow! We’re making the best base design for hordes in 7 days to die, which comes complete with the simple fall trap should the zeds break through (unlikely). ![]()
